1. You must register for the bed races no later than March 1, 2024. Registration is $5.00 (non-refundable) per team. All proceeds go towards our benefit fundraising goal of $20,000 for our disabled Vietnam Vet, Curt Ruggles.
2. All costs associated with the bed and race are the sole responsibility of the entrants. You may find your own team sponsor to cover your entry fee and bed costs or you can have an independent team, but this is at the discretion of the individual teams and not that of Heartland Helping Hands.
3. Teams must consist of 5 team members. 1 person must remain on the bed at all times. The other 4 team members are the runners, one on each bed corner, must push the bed and remain in contact with the bed throughout the race. Beds must be raced foot first.
4. All bed racing teams must have a theme. Any theme you choose as long as it is family friendly. You must provide your chosen theme to HHH no later than March 1, 2024 for review.
5. You must provide your own bed for your team.
6. Beds can be a twin size or full size, or a hospital bed. No larger or smaller beds allowed. (Twin beds are recommended for lower cost and higher speed.)
7. Runners are responsible for maintaining an overall safe operation of propelling the bed and stopping their bed. Operations deemed unsafe by the judges may be cause for disqualification.
8. Heartland Helping Hands Inc. reserves the right to disqualify or remove, at its discretion, any team, costumes, or bed decorations that are deemed inappropriate or defy the spirit of the bed race competition.
9. All participants will conduct themselves according to the highest standards of sportsmanship – particularly with regard to other competitors. Abusive language or gestures will be grounds for disqualification.
10. Awards will be given for the following: First, second, & third places, and most outrageous bed theme & costumes. (costumes are optional)

All the more specific, final details will be provided to bed race registrants prior to the event.
